Should a Seller get a Pre-Inspection prior to listing their home?

That’s not a one size fits all answer

A Pre-list inspection can be beneficial for sellers as it allows them to identify safety issues and make repairs before listing their home, which can expedite the sale and provide peace of mind. Pre-list inspections can also reduce the chances of surprises during the final walk-through and put the seller in control of home remedies and pricing upfront. However, there are drawbacks to consider, such as the cost of the inspection itself as well as the requirement to disclose inspection findings. Additionally, some inspection reports can be overwhelming for buyers to read and may lead them to change their mind about purchasing the home. Ultimately, whether a pre-list inspection is worth it or not depends on the specific circumstances of each transaction.
